David Ranch Pet Policy

At David Ranch, we understand that pets are part of the family. We are pleased to welcome well-behaved pets to our outdoor recreational areas and activities. To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and comfortable experience for all guests, animals, and staff, the following Pet Policy applies to all visitors bringing pets onto the property.

Pets Are Welcome

Pets are welcome throughout designated outdoor areas of David Ranch, provided they remain under the care and control of their owner at all times.

David Ranch reserves the right to restrict pet access to specific areas, activities, events, or animal interaction zones where necessary for safety or operational reasons.

Owner Responsibilities

Pet owners are fully responsible for the behavior, supervision, health, and safety of their pets while on David Ranch property.

Owners must:

  • Keep pets under direct supervision at all times.

  • Maintain physical control of their pets.

  • Ensure pets are friendly, non-aggressive, and comfortable in public settings.

  • Prevent excessive barking, disruptive behavior, or actions that may disturb other guests, livestock, wildlife, or staff.

  • Comply with all posted signage and staff instructions regarding pet access.

Leash Requirement

All pets must remain on a secure leash no longer than 2 metres (6 feet) while on David Ranch property unless otherwise authorized by management.

Pets may not be allowed to roam freely, chase animals, enter restricted areas, or approach livestock without permission.

Waste Cleanup

Owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their pets.

Visitors must:

  • Carry waste bags at all times.

  • Pick up and properly dispose of pet waste in designated garbage receptacles.

  • Leave all areas clean and sanitary for other guests.

Failure to clean up after a pet may result in removal from the property.

Health and Vaccination Requirements

For the safety of all visitors and animals, pets brought to David Ranch should:

  • Be in good health.

  • Be free from contagious illnesses.

  • Have current vaccinations as recommended by a licensed veterinarian.

  • Comply with applicable Ontario animal control regulations.

David Ranch may request that any visibly ill or unsafe animal leave the property.

Livestock and Farm Animal Safety

David Ranch is an active agricultural and recreational property that may contain livestock, farm animals, wildlife, and other animals.

For the safety of all animals:

  • Pets must not chase, harass, or disturb livestock or wildlife.

  • Pets must not enter animal enclosures, barns, pens, or restricted agricultural areas unless specifically permitted.

  • Owners are responsible for maintaining a safe distance from farm animals when directed by staff.

Aggressive or Dangerous Behavior

Any pet displaying aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behavior toward guests, staff, livestock, wildlife, or other pets may be required to leave the property immediately.

David Ranch reserves the right to remove any animal deemed unsafe at its sole discretion.

Liability

Pet owners assume full responsibility for their pets and any injury, damage, loss, or disturbance caused by their animals.

David Ranch is not responsible for:

  • Injury to pets.

  • Lost or escaped pets.

  • Illness or accidents involving pets.

  • Interactions between pets and other animals or visitors.

Owners agree to indemnify and hold harmless David Ranch, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from their pet's presence on the property.

Service Animals

David Ranch welcomes service animals in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and applicable Ontario laws.

Service animals may accompany their handlers in areas where public access is permitted, subject to applicable health and safety requirements.

Right to Refuse Access

David Ranch reserves the right to deny entry or require the removal of any pet that:

  • Is not under control.

  • Creates a safety concern.

  • Causes damage to property.

  • Disturbs guests, staff, livestock, or wildlife.

  • Violates this Pet Policy.

Acknowledgement

By bringing a pet onto David Ranch property, visitors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Pet Policy and accept full responsibility for their pet's conduct, safety, and wellbeing while on the property.
